It is with grateful hearts that we embark on this sacred pilgrimage to Poland, the homeland of Saint John Paul II and Saint Faustina Kowalska, and the birthplace of the Divine Mercy devotion. More than a journey to holy places, this is an invitation to deepen our relationship with Christ, to grow in faith, and to experience anew the transforming power of His mercy. Our journey leads us to the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Kraków-Lagiewniki, where Saint Faustina Kowalska received the message of God’s boundless love and compassion for the world. Before the image of the Merciful Jesus, we pray with renewed trust, making our own the simple yet profound words: "Jesus, I trust in You." At Jasna Góra, before the miraculous icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa, we place our lives under Mary’s loving protection, asking her to lead us ever closer to her Son. As we visit Auschwitz-Birkenau, we will remember all who suffered there, pray for peace, reconciliation, and the triumph of hope over hatred. We also follow in the footsteps of Saint John Paul II, visiting his birthplace in Wadowice giving thanks for the life and witness of the Saint whose love for Christ and unwavering proclamation of Divine Mercy continue to inspire the Church throughout the world. May this pilgrimage be a time of grace, renewal, and joyful fellowship. Strengthened by the Eucharist, nourished by prayer, and inspired by the example of the saints, may we return home with hearts transformed by God’s mercy, ready to become instruments of His love and compassion in our families, our parish, and our wider community. May this pilgrimage renew our faith, strengthen our hope, and inspire us to become living witnesses of God’s mercy. Through the intercession of Our Lady, Saint Faustina, and Saint John Paul II, may our hearts be transformed so that, returning home, we may share Christ’s love and mercy with everyone we meet.
UK - Krakow
Fly from London Gatwick to Krakow. Your English-speaking guide will meet you at the arrival area and transfer to your hotel. Check-in to our hotel. Evening dinner at the hotel and overnight.
Wawel Cathedral - St Mary’s Basilica
After breakfast, we walk to Wawel Cathedral. Sightseeing tour of this magnificent cathedral including the chapel where St John Paul II celebrated his first Mass. We also visit Sigismund Chapel, a masterpiece of Renaissance art and architecture. The tombs of many of Poland’s kings and queens and their greatest national heroes are located here. Afterwards walk to St Mary’s Square (Market Square) one of the largest and oldest squares in Europe where we will have a guided tour of St Mary’s Basilica - one of the finest Gothic structures in the country. Note: if you wish to take pictures inside the basilica there is a charge of about 5 euros. We will have lunch in the square; there are many cafes and restaurants to choose from. If time permits, we can have a look at the covered market where you may purchase local produce such as jewellery, bags and hand painted ornaments. After lunch, you will travel by coach to the Divine Mercy sanctuary. You will celebrate Mass here followed by a talk with one of the nuns about St Faustina. Return to your hotel and evening dinner at a local restaurant.
Auschwitz - Birkenau
We have breakfast and travel by coach to Auschwitz Birkenau, visiting the former concentration camp which was the scene of terrible human suffering during the Second World War. We see the cell of St Maximillian Kolbe where he died giving up his life to save another. (Auschwitz is not suitable for visitors under 15 years of age). We celebrate Mass at a local church followed by lunch there. Travel back to your hotel and dinner at a local restaurant.
Divine Mercy Shrine
This morning, visit the world-renowned Sanctuary of Divine Mercy, the sacred site where St. Faustina Kowalska received the revelations of Divine Mercy. Celebrate Mass at the sanctuary, followed by an inspiring talk from one of the resident Sisters, who will share insights into the life, spirituality, and mission of St. Faustina. There will be time for personal prayer at the shrine and at the tomb of St. Faustina, offering a meaningful opportunity for reflection and devotion. Afterwards, return to the city centre for lunch and enjoy some free time to explore the vibrant market, browse the local shops, or simply soak up the atmosphere at your leisure. This evening, return to the hotel for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.
Czestochowa
After breakfast we travel by coach to Czestochowa - Home of the Miraculous Icon of Our Lady, known as the Black Madonna, the Queen of Poland. This is considered the holiest place in Poland and is the third largest Catholic pilgrimage site in the world. The sanctuary is in the Pauline Monastery in Jasna Gora, which has been a major destination of pilgrimages for centuries. We will celebrate Mass here. Travel back to the hotel and evening dinner at the hotel.
Wadowice - Kalwaria
After breakfast we drive to Wadowice, the hometown of St John Paul II. We visit the Holy Father’s House, now a museum, and the parish church where he was baptised. It is considered one of the most beautiful churches in Poland. We will celebrate Mass here followed by a guided tour of this historic site. We stop at Kalwaria Zebrzydowska - Poland’s first Calvary sanctuary, established in 1600. St John Paul II visited here with his father as a boy and often during his priestly life. On his first pilgrimage to Poland in 1979, he said, “I would like you to pray for me here, both during my life and after it." We return to your hotel and dinner at a local restaurant.
Krakow - UK
Depending on our flight departure time, we may have the opportunity to attend Mass and enjoy some free time afterwards before transferring to Kraków Airport for our flight back to the UK. Note: please bear in mind that this itinerary is subject to change. While we aim to follow the planned schedule, the exact day-to-day order cannot be guaranteed. On occasion, and where circumstances outside our control arise, some sites or activities may need to be adjusted, replaced, or cancelled. The order of visits may also be adapted by your tour guide where needed to help ensure the pilgrimage runs safely, smoothly, and as enjoyably as possible for everyone.
