Florence, Pisa, Siena, Loreto and Cascia
This pilgrimage invites us on a journey through some of Italy’s most treasured spiritual and cultural landscapes - places where history, faith, and beauty meet. Over the course of six days, we will travel together, exploring cities shaped by centuries of devotion, and taking time for prayer, reflection, and shared experience. From the Renaissance splendour of Florence and the medieval majesty of Siena, to the quiet sanctity of Cascia and the Holy House of Loreto, each day offers moments of grace and discovery. Guided by our profession local tour escort and local experts, we will encounter not only remarkable holy sites but also the deeper meaning behind them. May this pilgrimage be a time of blessing, inspiration, and peaceful reflection, and may the memories we create together remain with us long after our journey ends. Our price includes a dedicated local tour escort available throughout the pilgrimage, daily Mass with a priest accompanying the group from the UK, return direct flights, hotels, airport transfers & executive coach for touring and all breakfasts and evening meals.
UK - Pisa - Florence
Fly to Pisa on our direct flight from the UK. We are offering flights from Manchester, London Gatwick and Edinburgh (priest will be travelling from Edinburgh). Upon arrival, we will be met by our local English-speaking tour representative and coach driver. Our Italian tour rep will be with the group every day and will be available to help and/or provide advice throughout the pilgrimage. Time permitting (and depending on flight time), we’ll have Mass locally in Pisa. Please note, at the moment, only the pilgrims flying from Edinburgh will have time for Mass. Once all flights have landed, transfer to Florence after our evening meal in Pisa (we’ll also have a quick sighting and photo opportunity of the Leaning Tower of Pisa). Proceed to our hotel in Florence and check in for the first 2 nights of our pilgrimage.
Florence
Breakfast in the hotel. We’ll meet our tour escort and tour guide in the hotel lobby ready for our short historical guided tour of the city. Today we will explore Florence, the capital of Italy’s Tuscany region and home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture. UNESCO declared the city a World Heritage Site in 1982. We’ll view the magnificent Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, one of the largest churches in the world and the Piazza Santa Croce, as well as many other of Florence’s most iconic landmarks. After our guided tour, we will have free time to explore and to eat lunch at one of the many restaurants/cafes serving delicious local foods. Free time for the rest of the afternoon in this wonderful city. At the end of our day, we’ll have Mass at the Chiesa di Santa Maria Maggiore in the centre of Florence followed by evening dinner in a local restaurant before walking back to the hotel.
Florence - Siena - Perugia
Breakfast in the hotel. After breakfast, we’ll meet our tour escort and coach driver in the hotel lobby. Today we will spend the day in Siena and view the magnificant Cathedral there. Siena Cathedral is a medieval church, a dedicated Roman Catholic Marian church in the early days, and now dedicated to the Assumption of Mary. Siena was an important city in medieval Europe and the city’s historic centre is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will have both a guided tour and free time to appreciate the city’s beauty and famous architecture. At the end of our day, we proceed to our hotel in Perugia. Check-in followed by evening dinner in the hotel.
Cascia (Shrine of St Rita)
After breakfast, we’ll meet our tour escort and coach driver in the hotel lobby ready for a day in Cascia. Visit the Shrine of St Rita in Cascia. Pope Leo XIII canonised St Rita in 1900 and she was bestowed the title "Patroness of Impossible Causes." Upon arrival, we have free time to look around this stunning location as well as time for lunch. Afterwards, Mass in St Rita’s church followed by a short guided tour. Return to the hotel by coach. Time to relax followed by evening dinner in the hotel.
Loreto - Shrine of the Holy House of the Blessed Virgin Mary
We will have a day in Loreto today. After breakfast, we’ll meet our tour escort and coach driver in the hotel lobby. Transfer to Loreto. Upon arrival, we visit the Basilica della Santa Casa, a Shrine of the Holy House of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This is one of the holiest and most visited pilgrimage destinations in Italy because it contains the family home of Mary. According to tradition, this is where she grew up and where the Archangel Gabriel appeared and told her that she would become the Mother of God. It is believed the stones were transported to Italy from Israel. We will have a short, guided tour of the basilica by one of the English-speaking priests followed by Mass. Free time in the afternoon. We recommend having lunch in one of the local restaurants, and afterwards, you can spend more time at the basilica or explore the pretty hill town of Loreto on foot. There are a couple of cafes where we can sit and relax, order lunch, coffee or Italian gelato, whilst admiring the magnificent Basilica and the beautiful fountain within the Piazza delle Madonna square, in the heart of Loreto. Transfer back to our hotel in Perugia in time for our final evening meal as a group.
