4 days / 3 nights
Join us on this very special and unique Pilgrimage to Italy during the Jubilee Year 2025 and attend the momentous event and have the unforgettable experience of witnessing the Canonisation of Blessed Carlo Acutis in Rome with Pope Leo XIV. Blessed Carlo Acutis will be the first Saint this Millenium, making this a truly memorable occasion and not one to miss! Plenary indulgence can be gained by entering through the Holy Door. We will also visit the Basilica of St Mary Major, walking through the Holy Door here and viewing the final resting place of Pope Francis. In Assisi, the historical city pervaded by the spirit of St. Francis, we have a guided tour of the Basilicas of St Francis and St Clare and view Blessed Carlos Acutis’ tomb.

Assisi - Rome
After breakfast, we will check out and then meet our local tour escort in the hotel lobby and our coach driver and transfer to Assisi. We meet our professional English-speaking tour guide and begin our tour with the Basilica of St Clare which houses her incorrupt body. Clare of Assisi left her family’s palace in 1212 and was received by St Francis (with other young women) at the Porziuncola, thereafter establishing the Order of Poor Clares. One of the chapels here contains the crucifix that bowed its head and ordered St. Francis to “repair God’s Church.” Afterwards, we visit St Mary Major Parish in Assisi, also known as the Shrine of the Renunciation, which refers to the time when St. Francis stripped himself of his clothing in front of his father as a way of renouncing his wealth. The tomb of Blessed Carlo Acutis currently resides here; Carlo Acutis, who had a passion for computers and the Eucharist, died at the young age of 15 in 2006 from leukemia. We will then tour the Basilica of St Francis, built in 1228 to house the Relics of the saint. The “upper” basilica houses beautiful frescoes of Giotto. Mass here followed by free time for lunch, personal devotion or time to explore the pretty hilltop town of Assisi. After our free time, we return to our coach and transfer to Rome for the final 2 nights of the pilgrimage. Upon arrival in Rome, we check in to our hotel which is in an excellent location, only a 29-min walk to St Peter’s Square. After check-in, we’ll enjoy evening dinner together as a group in the hotel (included in price).
